you can play online multiplayer by hosting it with the BYOND software(there are plenty of guides out there for how to do this, it just requires port forwarding)

Install instructions
Unzip the file and then open the .dmb! Make sure you have the BYOND software installed(its the same thing Space Station 13 runs on): http://www.byond.com/download/
